Signs of a hidden leak
- A water bill that jumps with no change in habits
- The meter creeping with everything in the house off
- A warm spot on the floor, or a damp spot on a wall
- The sound of water running when nothing is on
- Paint bubbling, or baseboards lifting
What we do
- 01
Confirm there's a leak, and narrow down where it is before opening anything
- 02
Open the smallest area that gets us to it
- 03
Repair or replace the failed section properly, not with a patch that waits to fail
- 04
Check the pressure and the cause, so the same thing doesn't happen next door to the repair
What decides the price
Finding it and fixing it are two different pieces. Where the leak is, what it's in, and what it takes to reach it are what decide the price. We give the estimate in person, once we’ve seen the job.

Pipe and leak repair: questions and answers
How do I know if I have a hidden leak?
Turn everything off in the house and watch the water meter. If it still moves, water is going somewhere. A jump in the bill, a warm spot on a floor or a damp wall are the other three signs worth a call.
Can you find a leak without tearing the house apart?
That's the aim: narrow it down first, open the smallest area that reaches it, and put it back. We don't start opening walls hoping to get lucky.
Is high water pressure causing my leaks?
It often is. Pressure above the code limit wears out valves, connectors and joints early, and shows up as repeated small leaks. Checking it takes a minute with a gauge.
Also in leaks and pipes
- Water pressure and regulatorsPressure checked with a gauge, and regulators repaired or replaced when the house is getting more than the plumbing should take.
- Valves, hose bibs and water hammerShutoffs that won't turn, washer valves, outdoor hose bibs, and arrestors for pipes that bang when a valve closes.
