Water treatment

Arizona’s hard water is tough on fixtures, appliances and water heaters. We recommend a system sized to your home, not a one-size-fits-all upsell.

Why Valley homes need it

Phoenix-area water is some of the hardest in the country. Treating it protects your plumbing and appliances, and you’ll notice it on every faucet and shower door.

  • “Used Ironwood Plumbing for a first-time water softener install in a new build and it went super smooth. Really easy to work with, showed up on time, and got everything set up without any issues. Took a few minutes to walk me through how it all works which I appreciated.”

Questions and answers

Softener, filter or reverse osmosis: what’s the difference?

A softener removes the minerals that cause scale. A whole-home filter reduces sediment, chlorine and taste. Reverse osmosis goes under the sink for drinking water. Many homes pair a softener with RO. We explain what your home actually needs.

Do I need a softener in a new build?

Many newer Arizona homes already have a softener loop plumbed in, which makes a first-time install a straightforward job.

Will you tell me if I don’t need one?

Yes. The recommendation is sized to your home and water, with no upsell.
