Water treatment
Reverse osmosis drinking water
Reverse osmosis pushes water through a membrane that takes out most of what's dissolved in it, which is why RO water tastes different from tap water. It goes under the kitchen sink with its own small faucet, and it handles drinking and cooking water rather than the whole house.

Worth having when
- You're buying bottled water for drinking and cooking
- Tap water tastes like minerals or chlorine, even with a softener
- You want better water for coffee, ice and cooking
- You've just put in a softener and want better drinking water too
What we do
- 01
Install the unit under the sink with room left to use the cabinet
- 02
Add the drinking faucet, and connect to the fridge or ice maker if you want it
- 03
Connect the drain properly so it can't back-siphon
- 04
Test and flush the system before we leave
What decides the price
The system you choose and what's already under the sink decide it: cabinet space, the drain, and whether the fridge line comes off it too. We give the estimate in person, once we’ve seen the job.
“Took a few minutes to walk me through how it all works which I appreciated.”
Answers
Reverse osmosis: questions and answers
Do I need RO if I already have a softener?
They do different jobs. A softener protects the plumbing and appliances from scale; RO is for how the water tastes to drink. Plenty of homes here have both.
Can it feed the fridge and ice maker?
Often, yes. It depends on the run from the sink to the fridge, which is one of the things we look at on the visit.
Where does it go?
Under the kitchen sink, with a small dedicated faucet on the sink or the counter.

- Water softenersValley water is some of the hardest in the country. A softener removes the minerals that scale fixtures, spot glass and shorten a water heater's life.
- Whole-home water filtrationCuts sediment, chlorine and taste at every faucet, installed with a bypass so it's easy to service.
