Water softener installation
A softener takes the calcium and magnesium out of the water before it reaches the house, which stops scale building in the water heater, the fixtures and the appliances. Most newer Valley homes already have a loop plumbed for one, which makes a first-time install straightforward.

Signs your house wants one
- White crust on faucets, shower doors and glassware
- Soap that won't lather, and skin and hair that feel filmy
- A water heater that's getting noisy young
- Appliances failing earlier than they should
- A new build with a softener loop already in the garage wall
What we do
- 01
Check the hardness and size the unit to the household
- 02
Connect it to the loop, or plumb a loop where there isn't one
- 03
Install a bypass so the system can be serviced without shutting the house down
- 04
Set the system up and walk you through the salt and settings before we go
What decides the price
Whether there's a loop already, where the unit goes, and the size of the system are what move the price. A new build with the loop already in place is usually the simplest. We give the estimate in person, once we’ve seen the job.

Water softeners: questions and answers
Do I really need a softener in the Phoenix area?
Valley water is very hard. The city's own reports put it well above the level where scale starts costing you. A softener isn't required, but it's the difference between replacing fixtures and appliances early or not.
Does a new build already have one?
Often it has the loop but not the softener, which makes a first-time install a straightforward job when the loop was done properly.
Will a softener fix the taste?
No. Softening is about hardness minerals. If it's taste and smell you're after, that's filtration or reverse osmosis, and we'll say which one your house actually needs.
Also in water treatment
- Whole-home water filtrationCuts sediment, chlorine and taste at every faucet, installed with a bypass so it's easy to service.
- Reverse osmosisAn under-sink system for cleaner, better-tasting drinking water, installed neatly with the faucet and drain done properly.
