Questions · Hiring a plumber
What happens on the visit
We arrive, you show us the problem, and we look at it properly before saying anything. Then we tell you what we found, give you the options and the price in person, and only start once you have said yes. At the end we test the work and leave the space clean.

How a visit goes
- 01
You show us the problem and tell us what it has been doing
- 02
We look at the fixture or the system, and at the things around it that change the job
- 03
We test what needs testing rather than guessing: the pressure, the supply or the drain, depending on the job
- 04
We tell you what we found, in plain words
- 05
You get the options and the price before any work starts
- 06
Once you say yes, we do the work and test it with you there
- 07
We clean up the space before we leave
What helps us most
- Clear access to the fixture, the heater or the panel
- Knowing where the main shutoff is
- When the problem started, and what changed just before
- Whether anything has already been tried, including anything poured down a drain
- Any earlier work on that part of the house, if you know of it
What we will not do
- Start work before you have the price
- Push a replacement when a repair is the better money
- Quote a number over the phone that changes when we arrive
- Leave a job half open without telling you exactly where it stands
Answers
Do I need to be home?
For the estimate, yes, because the whole point is that you see what we found and get the price in person.
Will you tidy up?
Yes. The space gets cleaned before we leave.
What if you find something else while you are here?
We tell you about it and what we think it means. Whether it gets dealt with now, later or not at all is your call, not ours.
If you need this done
- Drain cleaningSinks, tubs, showers and main lines cleared to the root of the blockage instead of pushed further down the line.
- Water heater repairNo hot water, water that runs cold early, noises or a leak? We find the real cause and give you an honest call on repair versus replacement.
- Toilet repair and replacementRunning, weak-flushing, clogged or leaking at the base: repaired, or replaced with an efficient new toilet.
- Where we workEvery town and ZIP across the Valley we cover.
